Jesus exhorts us in John 15:1-5 to stay connected to Him. We also have the promise in Philippians 1:6 the what God has started in us He will keep working on. In different ways, Christ told us to sync up with Him, to listen to His voice (John 10:27) and to follow Him (Mark 8:34)

Ezekiel 36:26-27 reveals that God is in the business of heart transplants. Our hearts are changed so that over time we are not following rules or simply regurgitating knowledge that we have aquired. Rather, our lives are lived in the overflow of the realization of who Christ is and the Spirit that has been poured into us (John 4:23).
