....I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

Philippians 3:12

Spiritual formation is the practice of rituals and encounters, large and small, in order to allow the Holy Spirit to confirm (Romans 8:16) and to deepen (Ephesians 16:19) our connection to God.

Remaining firmly attached creates fruit (John 15:4) that we can enjoy. The fruits of the Spirit are listed in Galatians 5:22-23. Not only is this of benefit to us but we bring glory to God as we share and connect with others, especially others in His family (Colossians 3:12)

Paul Pettit describes spirtual formation as: "the ongoing process of the triune God transforming the believer’s life and character toward the life and character of Jesus Christ—accomplished by the ministry of the Spirit in the context of biblical community."
