You have possibly heard of the concept of discipleship. This is when a person determines to pursue the teachings of specific person or group and seeks to live out the values contained in those teachings in their lives.

This is definitely part of the process of spiritual formation. However, if our sole focus is simply on acquiring knowledge or making sure our actions conform to certain expectations then we are missing a big part of what it means to be a child of God.
